Carolyn North moved from years as a freelance writer for magazines & newspapers to communications director for an animal rescue organization. Through that position, she opened a retail pet supplies store and cat rescue & adoption center. Through study and hands-on efforts, she gained knowledge of the pet food manufacturing processes and business & uses that information in writing about dogs and cats. She created and operated Seniors for Pets, a 501(c)3 organization to help needy senior citizens pay for basic veterinary care for their pets.
